IFA Reels in First of Two Fall Tournaments in Orange Beach

GULF SHORES and ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – After stops in two other Southern states, action in the Gulf Coast Division of the IFA Redfish Tour will culminate in Orange Beach, Ala., on Saturday, October 17 as the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission welcomes this premier catch-and-release tournament. The Wharf will serve as the tournament’s host site throughout the weekend.The tournament activities begin on Friday (October 16th) with registration from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. inside Tacky Jacks in Orange Beach. A captain’s meeting is set to follow registration, during which check-in times will be assigned.
Then, these anglers will launch Saturday morning at first safe light from the The Wharf’s marina. After a day of intense fishing action, anglers will return to this marina for weigh-ins and an awards ceremony, both of which are open to the public.
During this year of the competition in the IFA, the 18 regular season events offered $47,000 in payouts per event (based on a 100 boat field) as well as increased first-place prize packages. In 2009, every regular-season tournament winner – regardless of field size – won a fully loaded 2009 Ranger Banshee Extreme powered by a 60-horsepower, four-stroke Yamaha outboard and equipped with a Bob’s four-inch Ultra Light Jackplate, Power-Pole shallow water anchor, Minn Kota trolling motor, Humminbird electronics, Blue Point Fabrication metal work and Loadmaster trailer. The entire first-place prize package is valued at $30,000.
