GULF SHORES and ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - Tennis athletes from the South will converge on the Pleasure Island for the Orange Beach NTRP Combo Classic, which is affiliated with the United States Tennis Association. Presented by the Orange Beach Parks and Recreation Department, this tournament will showcase more than 80 athletes in a weekend of play at the Orange Beach Tennis Center from March 20th through 22nd. Daily matches will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude each evening or night (depending on weather).
Admission is free for spectators but players must pay a $23.00 entry fee.
“We are eager to show these tennis professionals the area’s outstanding selection of facilities and the surrounding year-round destination,” said Beth Gendler, director of sales for the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission. “Tournaments, such as this event, serve as yet another avenue for us to introduce or remind potential guests of the Alabama Gulf Coast.”
The Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission will round out the March schedule with the 3rd Annual Kaiser Realty Cycling the Coast for a Cure (March 28), the 5th Annual American Riviera Classic Volleyball Tournament (March 28-29), and the 2009 Orange Beach Soccer Shootout (March 28-29).
