Alabama’s beaches are “sporting” a new look thanks to the hard work of the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission. From the quiet hush of signature golf courses to the roar of powerboat races, Alabama’s Gulf Coast offers a venue and event for every athlete.
The Sports Commission is a partnership between the Alabama Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), the Alabama Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce and the cities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. In 2007, this commission became a department within the CVB. In this role, the commission - along with assistance from Gulf Shores and Orange Beach – works to bring quality sporting events to Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
