The Triathlon begins early Saturday morning with a 1,000-yard swim and moves on to a 20-mile bike ride through the state park. Athletes will head for the finish line during the final leg - a 5-mile run. The new "Tri-it-on" Triathlon begins with a 300 yard swim a 9 mile bike ride and a 2 mile run. The Ride For Wishes 2010 is a two-day cycling event that will feature riding distances for all levels of cyclist- from a 17 mile fun loop to a true Century ride. Plenty of rest stops, great fellowship, and the white, sandy beaches of the Gulf Coast are all reasons to make this year's Ride For Wishes a trip for the entire family. Returning for another installment of exhilarating racing action, Orange Beach will host the 2010 Thunder on the Gulf World Championships. The race week schedule of events so far are, as follows:
o Wednesday night Pre-Race kick-off party at Flora-Bama at 6:00pm.
o Dry Pits located at the Gulf State Park will open to the public from 8:00am-
10:00pm, Wednesday through Sunday with several events, festivities, and contests.
o Testing and practice in the gulf Thursday and Saturday 12:00-3:00.
o Thursday night race party at Happy Harbor Bar, in Orange Beach
starting at 6:00pm.
o Official races in the gulf Friday and Sunday 12:00-4:00.
o Friday night Meet the Racers Party at Live Bait II at 7:00 pm.
o Pleasure Island Poker Run on Saturday.starting at 10:00am.
o Sunday night Awards Ceremony at 7:00pm at Live Bait, Awards party to follow
